Buseoksa Temple [UNESCO World Heritage]

Founded in 676 by the monk Uisang under the order of King Munmu, Buseoksa is a representative temple of the Hwaeom sect. Known as the cradle of Hwaeom philosophy in Korea, the temple was named after a legendary 'floating rock' near the main hall. It houses numerous treasures, including the Muryangsujeon Hall, one of the oldest wooden structures in Korea, and ancient murals preserved in the on-site museum.
