Bangidong Ancient Tombs

The Bangidong Ancient Tombs consist of Baekje-period burial mounds situated on a low ridge in the Bangidong area. Originally excavated in the 1970s, the site has since been maintained and transformed into a park. There are currently eight remaining mounds: four on the higher western side and four on the lower eastern side. While some tombs feature vaulted stone chambers typical of the early Baekje period, others contain different structures, and the full details of all ten historical mounds remain partially unknown due to past urban development. Although the site was looted long ago and yielded few artifacts, the discovery of similar Baekje-style tombs in surrounding regions reinforces the theory that these mounds date back to the Baekje era.
