Cheongryeongpo (Gangwon GeoPark)

Cheongryeongpo, located in Gwangcheon-ri, Yeongwol-gun, is the historical site where King Danjong lived in exile after being deposed. Surrounded by the Namhan River and steep cliffs, this secluded area served as a lonely place of confinement for the young king after his uncle, Grand Prince Suyang, seized the throne. Historical records note that Eom Heung-do, a local official, secretly visited Danjong at night to provide support during his isolated exile.
